Make art at your kitchen table! Have a creative birthday party with a bookmaking art project. See descriptions of three projects below. Optimum ages: 8-14, but I am willing to adapt. At least one parent should be present to help out. Children under 8 will need more helpers. Western MA only.

You will need tables and chairs for all participants, preferably in the same room if multiple tables are used. Plastic tablecloths are helpful, I will bring all materials and supplies. You supply all food, drink, additional party favors etc (children will go home with a hand-made book).

Parties can be up to 10 children (depending on space). Six children minimum. $20. per child.

Projects:

• Wish on a Star: Lotus flower shaped book with intricate star pattern in the center and 5 "petal pages" to add our wishes, hopes, and dreams. Cutting, pasting, coloring, folding.

• Magic Wish Scroll: A scroll book in a decorated container that you wear around your neck. Inspired by Ethiopian Magic Scrolls. Building, coloring, writing, decorating.

• Blessing Book: A simple accordion book project inspired by the Otomi Indians of Mexico. Using earth-tone papers, we will fill our books with cut-paper designs, to create our own "Blessing Book", expressing gratitude for the many gifts in our lives. Folding, cutting, pasting, writing.
