Bookmaking in the Classroom
Bookmaking projects can be used across the curriculum to enhance learning and creativity. Projects can be designed to fit a specific theme and can be adapted for different grade levels. All visits include a show-and-tell presentation about creative bookmaking and a step-by-step lesson where each student builds a simple book
Projects can be as simple as a one-hour classroom visit, or can be more complex with multiple visits and integration with curriculum units. During longer residencies, artist and teacher collaborate to co-design a project that supports a variety of learning and artistic goals.
Fees vary depending on the project. Prices start at $200 per session and average about $100 per teaching hour, plus materials and travel expenses. Contact Jeannie for more info.
